Field Report #2: The Devil Splicers

Introduction:

The Field Report details all known information surrounding a certain topic. These topics are not limited to enemy races, but can be expanded to other things such as items, consumables, characters, etc. This time, we’re outlining everything currently known on the Devil Splicers.

For organizational purposes, this new field report was created for the Devil Splicers rather than adding it onto the existing Fallen report. Consider this a ~consume enhance replicate~ version of the first Field Report.

Who are the Devil Splicers?

The Devil Splicers are a sub-faction of the Fallen House of Devils and are composed of the house’s body hackers, bioengineers and scientists. When the House of Devils found SIVA beneath a quarantined area of the Cosmodrome known as the Plaguelands, they sent in the Devil Splicers to mess around with it. As a result, they’ve been using it to augment literally everything they can get their hands on.

So what EXACTLY is this ‘SIVA’ you’re talking about?

SIVA is a golden age, self-replicating nanotechnology originally developed by Clovis Bray on Mars. Shortly after its production it was sent to the Cosmodrome in Old Russia to aid with the defense of Rasputin. SIVA only follows a set of programmable directives and will not stop until said directives are fulfilled. Reports suggest the last set of directives given to SIVA were to “Protect and Defend”.

Splicer Hierarchy

Much like any Fallen Houses, the Devil Splicers follow a similar hierarchy.

Splicer Dreg

Splicer Dregs even after augmentation with SIVA still remain at the very bottom of the societal rung. While still not very strong, it has been noted that their Shock Grenades have been replaced by a SIVA Charge.

Splicer Vandal

Splicer Vandals, after augmentation still remain as the bulk of the Fallen forces. Now infused with SIVA, they possess the ability to become enraged like a Hive Knight, which allows them to charge right up to their enemy and recover some health.

Splicer Captain

Splicer Captains remain as the leaders of a Fallen strike force. They now have the ability to teleport further distances and their over-shields are now resonating Void energy. Splicer Captains also fight much more aggressively than their normal counterparts.

Splicer Priest

Splicer Priests are known for conducting rituals across the Plaguelands. It’s unclear what exactly they’re doing, but we know it must be stopped. Splicer Priests are major versions of Splicer Captains and only appear during Quarantine Patrol-type missions.

The Archpriest / Archon Prime

The Devil Splicers are led by an Archon Prime and his Archpriest. There is little known intel on them, however what we do have is enough to see just exactly who they are and what their significance is.

Splicer Arsenal

The twisted transformations of Fallen technology have become more lethal than ever.

Shock Pistol / Shock Rifle

Shock Pistols and Shock rifles now fire much faster, however no longer have the ability to track targets.

Shrapnel Launcher

Shrapnel launchers remain mostly unchanged but now have a higher projectile velocity.

Scorch Cannon

The Scorch Cannon remains the same as it’s always been. It fires deadly explosive rounds of Solar Light and can be charged for a more violent blast. These weapons are carried by Scorch Captains.

Shock Cannon

An enhanced version of the Scorch Cannon- The Shock Cannon fires Arc Projectiles that deal devastating damage to anything it hits. Like Scorch Cannons, these can be charged however do so much faster. These weapons are carried by Shock Captains.

Null Cannon

Another enhanced version of the Scorch Cannon is the Null Cannon which is filled with Void Light. Like the Shock and Scorch Cannons, the Null Cannon deals devastating blasts and can be charged for a much more devastating blast. These weapons are carried by Null Captains.

Perfected Walker (also known as Splicer Walker)

The attack behavior of the Perfected Walker remains similar to that of their normal counterparts. The only major difference is that the missile has been replaced with SIVA projectiles capable of tracking.

Splicer Shank

Splicer Shanks have been augmented to have a faster projectile velocity. If left unchecked, they can quickly become an issue on the battlefield.

Siege Engine

The Siege Engine is a giant contraption of what seems to be random scrap salvaged from the Cosmodrome. It’s purpose is to ram itself into walls, bringing them crashing down in a near instant. The true purpose of why the Siege Engine was built is unknown, but it’s very safe to assume that it was made so the Fallen could experiment on new ways to tear down the City’s walls.

Devil Splicer Leadership

The Devil Splicers, despite being loyal to the House of Devils, live within their own society.

Sepiks Perfected

Sepiks Prime has been reborn… and this time better than ever. Now featuring three types of shields- destroyable ONLY with either a Scorch, Shock or Null cannon. Sepiks now has a teleport capable of greater distances. Sepiks was rebuilt by the Devils in order to either convince other fallen to remain true to their original purpose as well as to show off the power of SIVA to other Fallen houses.

Kovik, Splicer Priest

Kovik is the High Priest of the Devil Splicers. He’s been known to capture and experiment on Hive specimens to dissect and observe their anatomy. Reports suggest he’s operating somewhere within a series of old launch silos near Bunker Triglav in the Plaguelands.

Meksis, Siege Engineer

Meksis is the engineer who controls the Siege Engine. It has been noted that right as a team of guardians were about to repair it, preventing a massive explosion, Meksis locks down the Siege Engine preventing them from progressing. It is unknown if he has any other motivations.

Vosik, The Archpriest

As the Archpriest, Vosik is the second-in-command of the Devil Splicers, however, unlike Aksis, he hasn’t ascended to godhood, not yet anyway. His augmentations are specifically designed to build and support body systems for Aksis. It has been noted that he is next in line for ascension into godhood.

Aksis, Archon Prime

Aksis is the pseudo-god of the Fallen and the primary leader of the Devil Splicers. Aksis is a heavily augmented individual who has full control over SIVA and is mostly mechanical. It has been noted that Aksis frequently questions himself and wonders whether or not he made the right choice or the right choice has been made for him.
