WelCOME BACK!

Just a bit of madness this week, but what's new right? This week's report is a bit longer than the others, but we have a lot to talk about. Recaps from last week, news from this week, announcements, Bounty updates, new events coming... Let's dive right in!

NEW TO THE COMMUNITY OR BAND?

  • Make sure your name on BAND is your PSN (not a variation of it). Another acceptable display name is your PSN followed by your first name in brackets.

  • Make sure you have an avatar; It’s so much easier to figure out and associate who is talking.

  • Still need some info or help? Check out this page for more info! >>> CLICK HERE

LUX IMPORTANT INFO

>> ACTIVITY CHECK IS COMING. It's been a few months and we've made a few changes to the roster... time to make room for new people and cut loose the inactives. This is the official one-week warning. Expect to see the Activity Check posted on November 6th and to stay posted for one full week. After that, all non-responders will be moved to the Pending Removal list and removed from all chatrooms until they respond or are removed. If you know anyone who's out on vacation or away from the game, let them know the check is coming!

>> We've had a few new faces join the ranks, and a few have walked away... so the cycle continues. Thank you to everyone helping to recruit and for the efforts in bumping our main recruitment post. A bump a day keeps us in the trending list!

OUR RECRUITMENT POSTS ARE BEING UPDATED! Please check our Band home page for the recruitment info and links this weekend. (Our original recruitment posts all were lost recently due to an error with the forums and need to be posted again. Many other posts were affected.)

>> Clan Bounty Hunter points will be updated online this weekend and a new bounty will be posted Tuesday.

'

>> We're still looking for contributors for our website. At this time, we would like to open up for regular content providers as well. A regular content providers will have access to our site's blog functions to write articles. If you'd like to help fill our site with words, and sentences, and paragraphs of Destiny related stuff, message WLinden with your email of choice for an invite to write.

FROM BUNGIE

Check out this week's update from Bungie right HERE

It's here everyone! Festival of the Lost has arrived and well.... is off to a disappointing start as most of the Destiny community has made it known. While the goodies are plentiful, some of the most coveted are locked behind a pay-wall.

Specifically the two most sought after items are locked within Eververse; the Hoodoom and Dragonsbane ornaments for Bad Juju.

Festival of the Lost will conclude November 8th at 1am PST (this will be the new reset time starting November 6th, following the Daylight Savings adjustment)

Until the event is over, make sure you're taking advantage of the increased reward drops to get your hands on some limited time shaders and collect those pieces of candy to exchange with Eva for more masks. A few quick goodies to note worth grabbing:

The Lost Broom (Special Sparrow, only available to use while Festival of the Lost is active)

All four special shaders:

Grab your empty satchel, grab your mask, and go collect those candies! (If you happen to get the flaming wolf mask and the howl emote, use them both and watch the cool change to the wolf mask.

This weekend's map is THE CAULDRON! (Surprise! This week has a special twist to Trials... no radar and no reviving. Good luck!)

Rewards

5 Wins: Year 3 ToO Armor || 7 Wins: Year 3 ToO Weapon

Don't forget to pick up your bounties from Brother Vance for a chance at general Trials gear!

This weekend, Xur can be found near The Speaker. (Was moved from The Reef)

In his inventory this week

Check out the most recent patch notes from Blizzard right HERE.

Currently there is a PTR in testing, but not much for notes since the launch of the Halloween event. Remember, this special Halloween event ends November 1st!

clan events and bounties

CURRENT EVENT: The Ascension

UPCOMING EVENT: Blind Doubles

This new event is going to be interesting to watch how it works out. For weeks, this event has been getting tweaked and re-written. It's finally ready to go!

Watch for the full event post on Band, but here's the short and sweet...

Sign-ups start Immediately, and after The Ascension concludes this event will start. All who wish to participate simply need to turn in 3 scores on designated days. The top scores will be paired with a random member of the participants and combined. (In the event of odd numbers, the odd-man-out after shuffling will have their score doubled. We'll do at least 3 waves (more if we have enough people) and crown winners.

CURRENT BOUNTY: Full Circle

Form a fireteam with one of each class and complete the Heroic version of "The Abomination Heist" strike, with the fastest time and least deaths. Top 4 teams all earn Bounty Hunter points.

UPCOMING BOUNTY: Super Smash Bros

Postponed until further notice! (Can't seem to find our hammer)

This bounty is being replaced with a new fun bounty: PHOTOBOMB GLORY

Grab a buddy, or two, or five... and head out into the world for some photo fun! The goal here is simple: Set up an epic, unique, or hilarious photobomb. Be direct and place your photobombing fool right in front of the camera, or be secretive and play with the viewers by having something happen in a background shot. The limit to this one is your own imagination.

You are allowed 3 submissions for this bounty. All submissions are due by the morning of Friday November 4th, and all submissions will be placed into a short video reel and labeled with a letter. This reel will be featured in the November 5th Stardust Report and our members will vote from there. The winners will be announced Monday November 8th.

This bounty is a short one, so start planning your pictures now! You'll have just over 72 hours to submit photos.

GEAR OF THE WEEK

Another week, another helpful piece of gear info. Let's dive into this new Gear Review!

“You cannot keep it silent.” - Fractal Scrolls

The Winged Word is one of the best PvP snipers in the game right now. Even though snipers are in a somewhat bad spot in the current meta, for Trials or 3v3 in general they can still be useful and the Trials sniper is a good one.

It comes with a static roll of: Perfect Balance/ Injection Mold

Snapshot/ Hand loaded,

Unflinching/ Life Support.

For the barrel choices I would go with Linear Compensator but any of them will work. For the other perks I would go with Injection Mold, Snapshot, and for the last one either works but I feel that Life Support would be more useful as Unflinching does not do much to help you. The great thing about Injection Mold and Snapshot is that it makes your scope in time very quick, (Like before Snapshot was nerfed type of quick), and the scope is low zoom as well which is what you want for PvP. Another great thing about this sniper is that it has enough impact to shut down any super in your normal PvP circumstances, which can be a very big thing in Trials.

Overall this sniper is really solid and has a lot going for it. I believe that the only way you can get it is from 7 wins in Trials so there is that but it is worth it if you like sniping in PvP. I recommend you get into some Trials and go for 7 wins for your chance at this sniper. Well that’s all from me for this week!

A special moment

Earlier this week I shared with our community that I had received what I believed was one of the most genuine stories I've had the pleasure and opportunity to read from our members. This story comes from our very own CAKIR4BI, or Ali for those who have played with him.

In the days following our first post about you all having the ability to submit stories and articles for our site, Ali messaged me with a simple request. He wanted to write a personal note about the game and how it affected him and his life. This is that story...

DESTINY

The story about a guardian

What are you thinking when you hear the name Destiny?

Do you think about the endless hours you invested in this game or are you thinking about the fun and the time your spend here with your friends? Destiny has changed since it became alive; a lot in the last years. Somethings got better but there are also some left to be improved.

September 9th 2014… I still remember it like it was yesterday because a couple days before I came out of the hospital with my wife and our new born son. In the first days, we were home because I took holiday so I could also take care of my son.

Destiny, a game which took me in its magic since I played the beta. A game which I could keep playing with my son in my arms. In the first days he was mostly sleeping or watching how I played. He was with me when I defeated Atheon. By the time I was ready for Crota, Son of Oryx he was sitting next to me and watching. He was there with me. When I hunted down Skolas in the Prison of Elders he was there and kept on watching. The first time when I was near Oryx he got so excited that he called my wife and he said "Mommy see…."

Today he waits for me when I come from work to open that game, so he can watch how I play. This light in his eyes when I open that game is so amazing. He gets happy with me, he gets angry with me, he gets the same excitement like me. I will never forget the day I defeated Aksis as he jumped around and yelled.

This kid loves this game more then I do.

When you ask me what I'm thinking when I hear the name Destiny.... Well I'm thinking that I hope this game will exist long enough to make my son happy when he plays it himself.
