WELCOME BACK!

This week we sit in anticipation for the arrival of the HARD MODE raid, Overwatch gives us a spooky treat, and we start the recruiting process again to fill in our vacancies! Off to a medium sized report this week.

NEW TO THE COMMUNITY OR BAND?

  • Make sure your name on BAND is your PSN (not a variation of it). Another acceptable display name is your PSN followed by your first name in brackets.

  • Make sure you have an avatar; It’s so much easier to figure out and associate who is talking.

  • Still need some info or help? Check out this page for more info! >>> CLICK HERE

LUX IMPORTANT INFO

>> There's seems to be some confusion regarding LVX and what the group is. For those still on the fence about joining and unsure what LVX is, let's iron the details out for everyone... LVX is our PvP focused home for guardians wanting to pursue a more competitive PvP experience. This is NOT an elitist group in any form, and is meant to be a facility for improvement and team growth. Members have access to planning tools to help coordinate events to improve each other's PvP skills. To join LVX from within any LUX extension, you must have a .9 K/D or higher, 1/3 of your total game time needs to have been spent in the Crucible, and you should be willing to participate in various clan events (for example, the two upcoming PvP clan events). External recruiting will begin this weekend, and the requirements to join will be adjusted based on LVX's feedback today.

To our LVX members, I leave you with this to think about... "The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand." ~ Vince Lombardi

>> Recruitment links will be updated later this weekend. Keep an eye open for a post on our main Band wall. If possible, the goal is to "bump" the post at least once a day. Doing so will help us stay in the eyes of some potential members. If you have a chance, simply comment "bump" to the first "bump" comment on the post.

>> We asked for contributors, and man did we get a response! Expect to see lots of new content on our website coming soon!

>> Weapon reviews on our website are still undergoing a slight adjustment. The previous setup was good but lacked an ability for us to quickly and easily add YOUR reviews. These adjustments should be in place very soon. Until then, please continue to send us your own reviews!! (We'll add the pictures for you)

FROM BUNGIE

Check out this week's update from Bungie right HERE

The heroic version of the new raid arrives this Tuesday! Set your alarms now and remember that you will need to download the newest patch on Tuesday to participate. The new patch goes live at 10am PST, and the raid itself will unlock at 2pm PST.

Who will be the first in our ranks to complete Hard Mode? More importantly, who will be in the first full LUX team to complete the raid? We look forward to seeing the completions and rewards flowing in!

Along with the new raid difficulty, we will finally see the Light Levels bump to the new max of 400. Knowing that engrams and various other activities will be affected by the light change, we recommend you stockpile any exotic engrams you have and wait to decrypt them until after the patch on Tuesday. The new race to LL 400 starts soon...

Affected events and their changes:

  • Reward drops up to 400 Light

  • Strike Hoards

  • Nightfall

  • Exotic Engrams

  • Trials of Osiris

  • Crucible

  • Iron Banner

  • Reward drops up to 385 Light

  • Archon’s Forge

  • Heroic SIVA Strike Playlist

  • Legendary Engrams

  • Reward drops up to 366 Light

  • Rare Engrams

  • SIVA Strike Playlist

The recommended Light for each of these events will remain the same. The Weekly Nightfall will be increased to a recommended 380 Light.

This weekend's map is Twilight Gap! Beware of sniper lanes and open spaces. Battles tend to focus near the middle room with the crates and along the outer steel beams. Stay alert.

Rewards

5 Wins: Year 3 ToO Armor || 7 Wins: Year 3 ToO Weapon

Don't forget to pick up your bounties from Brother Vance for a chance at general Trials gear!

This weekend, Xur can be found near The Speaker. (Was moved from The Reef)

In his inventory this week we have the Mk. 44 Stand Asides (Titan boots), Bones of Eao (Hunter boots), Sunbreakers (Warlock gauntlets), Trespasser (Sidearm), and Non-Legacy Gauntlet engrams. He is also selling the Moonglow ornament for the Hawkmoon, and the Storm's Reproach ornament for the Invective (not pictured).

**NOTE: The Gauntlet engrams are not, I repeat, NOT Legacy... meaning they will drop Y3 Light gear. This also means you can stockpile these into your vault until the Light bumps up on Tuesday for quick leveling. Get them while you can!

FROM BLIZZARD

Check out the most recent patch notes from Blizzard right HERE.

Tuesday saw the launch of the first ever PvE style event/mode for Overwatch, as well as the reveal and launch of the Halloween Event!! Tons of new skins, sprays, emotes and more... available until the end of the month. Check out the new video below!

clan events and bounties

CURRENT EVENT: None active

UPCOMING EVENT: The Ascension

This new event is based on the old Mortal Kombat arcade style ladder. The event will run for a full week, and challenges can be made in the Private Matches chatroom. We will open the RSVP starting tomorrow and it will go for a full week. Next week, we will lay out the full details of the event in the Stardust Report. In short, a handful of sign-ups will be placed in the ladder as "bosses" to beat. Your goal is to reach the top of the ladder and stay there. When you beat a boss, you bump them down the list. Top 3 will earn the clan title "The Ascended Few" and a bonus 10 points to their Bounty Hunter score.

CURRENT BOUNTY: Headhunter

Complete the Nightfall and collect as many Precision Kills as possible. Run it solo, run it with a team, run it on one leg... just get those precision kills! (Bonus points for top percentage based on kills to precision)

UPCOMING BOUNTY: Super Smash Bros

Details coming later this week!

GEAR OF THE WEEK

Another week, another helpful piece of gear info. Let's dive into this new Gear Review!

“Have I the aspic in my lips?”

This week I will be going over the new exotic warlock gauntlets introduced in Rise of Iron, the Ophidian Aspect. Definitely one of the best gauntlets for warlocks when it comes to PvP... but what do they do?

Viper Totemic: This exotic perk increases Energy Drain for Voidwalkers and grants you quickdraw essentially. Allowing you to reload and switch between weapons very quickly which is amazing. You do not need to re-roll this exotic for the right reload since these will work for any weapon. An amazing perk to have on a Warlock.

Snap Discharge & Energy Projection: Another set of amazing perks for crucible. Increased melee attack speed and increased grenade throw distance are both amazing in PvP.

<<<< BONUS VIDEO! >>>>

These gauntlets come with a lot of perks and are just really solid to use overall. I know from use that they are definitely worth the exotic slot for PvP. Also, Xur is selling Year 3 gauntlet engrams so go buy a few and try and get these bad boys, you won’t regret it if you get them.

That’s all for this week. ~ Chex

admin thoughts

This week was nearly back to normal... nearly. Aside from a sick kiddo and a sick and exhausted wife at the start of the week, things went well on my side of things. I'll have more for you guys soon. Most of all, I'll be looking for another helping hand with these updates. Keep an eye open for the "job offer" and let's see what we can do! I'll see you guys on the Banner-field soon enough!

Thanks for reading this week’s
