WELCOME BACK!

The Banner has been lit, Xur has returned for another weekend along with Trials of Osiris, and we finally have a date for when we can expect Wrath of the Machine in Hard Mode. For those playing Overwatch, we have new content information to share, we'll share the fun questionnaire we present to our Guardians of the Month, and we introduce TWO new subgroups!

NEW TO THE COMMUNITY OR BAND?

  • Make sure your name on BAND is your PSN (not a variation of it). Another acceptable display name is your PSN followed by your first name in brackets.

  • Make sure you have an avatar; It’s so much easier to figure out and associate who is talking.

  • Still need some info or help? Check out this page for more info! >>> CLICK HERE

LUX IMPORTANT INFO

- LUX VIATORES XERO has opened its doors for destruction! If you're PvP focused and want to push yourself toward a more competitive future alongside other similarly minded LUX members, just make sure you meet these MINIMUM requirements listed below. In the coming weeks, our "leads" will be able to invite potential members to the ranks.

  • Must have Crucible time equal to or greater than 1/3 of your total play time.

  • Your COMBINED Kill/Death Ratio (KDR) across all characters must be a [.90] or greater. (KDR's at or above [.90] shows that you have potential to fill in for any competitive teams that form.

  • Willing to participate in ANY playlist presented in a PvP Challenge.

  • (Bonus) Willing to participate in clan PvP Events to represent LVX.

- What started as one group has now grown to two! It is an honor to introduce both Raiders of Lost Light, and Maverick Hunters to our amazing list of subgroups!! Later this week we will update the subgroup list on our website so folks know who is in what group, and what groups have openings. Just remember, the best group for you to join is one you and your friends are in!

- Weapon reviews on our website are undergoing a slight adjustment. The previous setup was good but lacked an ability for us to quickly and easily add YOUR reviews. These adjustments should be in place very soon. Until then, please continue to send us your own reviews!! (We'll add the pictures for you)

FROM BUNGIE

Check out this week's update from Bungie right HERE

The Iron Banner has finally returned to us and so far it seems to be very rewarding to play. Supremacy has been a new experience for the event, and already a "meta" can been seen very clearly. While most maps will see many using shotguns as primaries, there are still opportunities for you to challenge the meta by using unconventional means. Play to the map's style, not the enemy.

If you're working on increasing your light level, this is one heck of a way to do it. From weapons, to armor, to ghosts and more... everything is available. Make sure you pick up your quest line, grab your new bounties from Lady Efrideet and battle onward!

The biggest news in this week's Bungie update is the announcement many of us have been waiting for... the heroic version of the new raid. Mark your calendars and farm your Light level up as much as you can, Hard Mode for Wrath of the Machine launches on October 18th, 2016 (assuming at 10am PST as normal)

Who will be the first in our ranks to complete Hard Mode? More importantly, who will be in the first full LUX team to complete the raid? We look forward to seeing the completions and rewards flowing in!

This weekend's map is Floating Gardens! Watch your back, run with a buddy, and keep an eye on the upper battle space as traffic in the map tends to focus on and around the bridge near the center.

Rewards

5 Wins: Year 3 ToO Armor || 7 Wins: Year 3 ToO Weapon

Don't forget to pick up your bounties from Brother Vance for a chance at general Trials gear!

This weekend, Xur can be found near The Speaker.

In his inventory this week we have the Thagomizers (Titan gauntlets), Shinobu's Vow (Hunter gauntlets), Light Beyond Nemesis (Warlock helmet), Thunderlord ( Machine Gun), and Legacy Primary engrams. He is also selling the Shock Hazard ornament for the Zhalo Supercell, and the Queen's Command ornament for the Telesto (not pictured).

FROM BLIZZARD

Check out the most recent patch notes from Blizzard right HERE.

This week we finally received an update from the Development Team at Blizzard regarding some of the top topics in the community. Rather than laying out all of the details here, we're just going to post the update video fro you to watch. For the really juicy bits, just know that Symmetra and Junkrat will see some more tweaks coming and we may see a new character "sooner rather than later"!

guardians of the month

Last week we announced our Guardians of the Month, and as the tradition goes, we sent them a quick questionnaire to respond to. Most of our questions are nonsense and just for fun, but it gives you a chance to see a brief view of who are winners are. If you missed it, let's remind you who the October Guardians of the Month are:.

CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN TO...

The_Newb_Shot & Infamous_Trace!!

1. You're Guardian of the Month! How did you feel after finding that out?

Newb: "After finding out I was Guardian of the Month, I was honestly surprised and flattered. I hadn't known that I was liked by so many people. So thank you guys! Much love."

Trace: "I felt pretty amazed, I never thought I would get it and to whoever nominated me, thank you!"

2. We've had Rise of Iron for a few weeks now. What are your favorite new additions to the game?

Newb: "That's a tough one.. Honestly? The raid (which I haven't done yet) and Archon's Forge."

Trace: "I really like Archon's Forge and how fast paced it is. No matter which offering you have you have enemies coming at you from every direction, and if you're not careful, BOOM! An exploder shank got you."

3. You're stuck in the Cosmodrome for a few nights, no rescue, no Ghost.... and you can take only one gun with you, which gun and why?

Newb: "That's easy. Hawksaw(: It's my baby."

Trace: " Red Death just 'cuz of the healing on it, If I'm about to die or hurt pretty bad just pop one enemy and boom ,I'm better."

4. The election is coming up and we have a tough choice to make... of the two, which do you prefer: chocolate or vanilla cake?

Newb: "Chocolate, duh."

Trace: "Neither, I'm going with ice cream."

5. We've asked before, and we're still waiting for someone to take the challenge.

You two are chatting at the Tower and Cayde interrupts you to issue a rap battle on the spot between you two. What's your first sick verse?

Newb: "....choked"

Trace: "I ain't a killa Cayde but don't push me, I'm about to end your life like Ikora's p----."

Editor's Note: I seriously juggled with that last comment, but you know what... it was all in good fun and someone finally went for the rap verse challenge, so props.

GEAR OF THE WEEK

After a month long break, our glorious Forgemaster has delivered a new review to educate our hungry minds. Let's dive into this new Gear Review!

"Been awhile since we had a review on anything and the first review of Year 3 couldn’t have come at a better time with Iron Banner in full swing. This week I decided to review The Unbent Tree, which is the Iron Banner auto rifle.

This week you can get the auto from end of match rewards from Iron Banner or you can purchase it from Lady Efrideet. The vendor version by far is not the best roll you could get.

Rolls you should look for: Anything with stability; the stability is pretty low and without anything to help that the auto will be pretty bad especially with the high rate of fire. In my opinion the best rolls would include: Perfect balance or Braced Frame in the first column (Smallbore is a good option as well), Single point sling, Quickdraw, Appended Magazine, or Armor Piercing rounds are all good options for the second column, and for the final column Counterbalance and Persistence are the best options.

Auto rifles are pretty average in the current PvP meta but these faster rate of fire autos can hold their own in the right hands. If they ever get a little bit of a buff these will be very deadly and a very good choice for your loadout. In PvE autos are decent but I and many other people would prefer a good scout or pulse over them.

Overall I think this auto is pretty good and worth the grind and if you don’t get good rolls, it’s good infusion fuel. They drop pretty commonly from IB matches so if you play enough you should end up with 1 or 2 decent ones. That’s all for this week from your Forgemaster. Chex out."

admin thoughts

This week was nearly back to normal... nearly. Aside from a sick kiddo and a sick and exhausted wife at the start of the week, things went well on my side of things. I'll have more for you guys soon. Most of all, I'll be looking for another helping hand with these updates. Keep an eye open for the "job offer" and let's see what we can do! I'll see you guys on the Banner-field soon enough!

Thanks for reading this week’s

STARDUST REPORT!
