WELCOME BACK!

It feels like it's been forever since we posted any new information for you guys! Well let's fix that and get back into the routine of things. This week we announce our first ever Bounty Hunter, we announce the next Overwatch mini event, and outline what is left to complete for your Year-2 Moments of Triumph. Along with the standard updates, we're happy to announce some new content coming to our website and new tools for you all to use!

NEW TO THE COMMUNITY OR BAND?

  • Make sure your name on BAND is your PSN (not a variation of it). Another acceptable display name is your PSN followed by your first name in brackets.

  • Make sure you have an avatar; It’s so much easier to figure out and associate who is talking.

  • We have a few simple rules to help keep our clan awesome…

  • 1. Be respectful, to your clanmates and admins. Harassment, arguing, or general misconduct are the fastest ways to be removed from the clan.

  • Reports of RAGE QUITTING will receive one warning.A second offense will result in removal from the clan. (Rage quitting is defined as rudely exiting a game; whether that is PvP, or PvE related. We're all adults here, act like it if something is going wrong)

  • 2. Be helpful. No one likes a lifeless group or a lack of a team for challenges. Hop in a new fire team every now and help out.

  • 3. Have fun and be mature. Joking around is ok, but let’s keep it relatively clean and appropriate. You’ll be warned once if you cross a line. Don’t be that guy to get booted for breaking a rule. No one likes that guy.

LUX IMPORTANT INFO

- While we never want to say goodbye to folks, sometimes it is a necessary action we need to take. Recently we removed 30+ inactive members from our ranks. These members did nothing wrong other than simply not participating. They're welcome back if we have spots open, but their tags need warm bodies.... so here's how we will correct that. If you are in LUX2 and wish to move to LUX (main), you may. If you are in LUX3 and wish to move to LUX2, you may. To make it as fair as possible, everything is first come. All you need to do is apply, no messages needed. Rank up and grab your new tag if wanted!

- Weapon reviews are coming this week. Now you're probably asking "I thought Chex did review already, what do you mean?" This week we will roll out the OFFICIAL FORGEMASTER'S BENCH section, which will become the permanent home for Chex's extremely helpful reviews. Along with those reviews, YOU can now add your own review!! There will be a very simple form you can fill out and submit to get your review posted. (All submissions will be reviewed to avoid spam reviews).

- Next week we announce the new GUARDIANS OF THE MONTH! If you have any nominations, send a message to WLinden soon.

:-:-: MOMENTS OF TRIUMPH REMINDER :-:-:

Can you believe it? We're nearly there! Have you completed your Moments of Triumph yet?

With only 24 days to go, there's a limited amount of time left to complete various parts of the Moments of Triumph. Let us run down the list for you and try to give you a road map to success. No matter what, don't stress... you can do this. Weekly Fragment Challenges: Last chances to collect these fragments.

This week - Warpriest. Balwur

Next week - Golgoroth and Kagoor

Week after - Oryx and Thalnok (If another week occurs - Warpriest and Balwur.)

A BLADE REBORN (Sword Quests):

Each exotic sword quest requires a "wait for Armsday" step so completing your quest up to that step before September 7th is important. If you miss that mark, you cut the time very close.

ERIS MORN'S REVENGE (Fragments):

Outside of the 6 listed above for Court of Oryx and King's Fall challenges, the rest of the fragements can be done between now and September 19th. Most should take about an hour to find on Patrol, while a few require you to be in a specific mission. If you need to see what you're missing and where they are, visit Destinycalcifiedfragments.com and look up your info.

CHALLENGE OF THE ELDERS & RETURN TO THE REEF:

These two challenges are rather simple to do, and take only a day to complete. Complete the April Update storyline, ending with defeating Malok. Complete a full Challenge of the Elders sigil.

THE THIRD ELEMENT:

Leveling up your Stormcaller, Sunbreaker, or Nightstalker subclass SHOULD be done by now, but if not, get moving! You must have the previous two subclasses leveled up as well for your character.

THIS IS AMAZING (The Mountaintop):

Use the Crucible chatroom to find folks to help. This quest is simple enough if you focus and have fun but does require some dedicated PvP time. Don't stress on it, and it'll just kinda happen.

THE SWORD LOGIC (Oryx KF Hard):

Complete the King's Fall raid on hard mode.... that's it. If you would like to request an event to be posted you will need to send the date and time (with your timezone) that you want to do the raid to WLinden. All requests MUST be in advance of the requested date/time. (No same day requests)

FROM BUNGIE

Check out this week's update from Bungie right HERE

SPOILERS AHEAD!! IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SPOIL ANY RISE OF IRON INFO, SKIP THIS SECTION

<<<< SKIP NOW >>>>

The mountain of information regarding Rise of Iron continues to grow! So much info has been posted and shared in the last two weeks and you guys (those wanting to know in advance) continue to just eat it up and continue to share info in our Rise of Iron chat! Let's recap a few of the topics discussed.

>>>> PRIVATE MATCH MAKING !! Our shouts and wishes have been heard!! Coming to Destiny on September 20th is the introduction of customer matches. This awesome new feature will allow for some fun and unique internal clan events, as well as truly epic montages. We know that you guys will want to set up tons of matches, and will have a bunch of event ideas to share, so next week we will be rolling out a form for you to use to submit event requests.

Private matches are a huge step in the right direction for the PvP side of Destiny, and from what we're hearing, we can expect to see more tools made available in the future. Our Bungie overlords were kind enough to Iron out a few major details regarding Private Matches.

  • You can build 12-person lobbies/orbits, however your team build is still limited to 6 players max per team.

  • Teams do NOT need to be even to begin a match. You can set up 6v1, 5v2, etc

  • All current Crucible modes appear to be available for Private Matches, meaning you can set u pa 6v6 Elimination match. (Expect a clan event using this setup)

  • Switching teams between matches is easy (simply press L1 or R1 while in orbit) making it much easier to mix up teams

  • Settings such as time of day, vehicles, and light levels are all things that can be controlled, among other settings.

  • While Post-Match rewards will not include Legendary or Exotic drops, you CAN still earn weapon experience and you can complete PvP bounties in private matches.

>>>>NEW MODE: SUPREMACY

This mode has a lot of people excited. If you're familiar with Call of Duty's Kill Confirmed mode, you have the general understanding of what this mode is. For those who do not know, first of all how have you not played Kill Confirmed before? Anyway, this mode should be exciting to see it evolve.

For those unaware of the mode and how it works, let's sum it up as simply as possible. If you kill an enemy, he will drop a crest (looks similar to an engram). Your goal is to collect as many enemy crests as possible, while collecting your fallen teammate's tags to deny the enemy any points.

>>>> 3 NEW MAPS (+1 PLAYSTATION EXCLUSIVE MAP

What would a Destiny update be without new Crucible maps? Here's the details and previews of each.

Skyline Location: Mars Details: Clovis Bray was an exoscience group that performed technical research and engineering in a variety of fields. Years ago the group built this waystation, which overlooks Mars’ vast landscape, as a kind of welcoming center for human colonist looking to settle on the planet. This map features a lot of vertical combat space.

Last Exit Location: Venus Details: A subway terminal on the Ishtar Sink of Venus that has been eroded away by the ocean. It provides players will a lot of close-quarter combat opportunities as they explore abandoned maintenance hallways along the tracks.

Floating Gardens

Location: Venus

Details: This map focuses on the Vex. Players will be treated to a stunning sunrise as they do battle in a massive circular shrine, which the Vex built on top of a huge spire in Venus’s upper atmosphere.

Icarus (PlayStation Exclusive) Location: Mercury Details: Icarus is the name of a massive Golden Age solar collector that has been built into one of the craters on Mercury’s surface. The sun looms large in the background as players duke it out in Mercury’s harsh elements. The solar collector is also full of mirrors used to collect the sun’s energy.

Reading every new piece of info that gets released is getting us even more hyped!! We won't spoil everything here, but if you want to learn more as it becomes available, join the ROI Chatroom and be ready for info.

<<<< SPOILERS OVER. CARRY ON >>>>

Also noted deep in the Bungie update was the announcement that Trials of Osiris will see it's last weekend next week, until Rise of Iron launches. That means if you're looking for that Year 2 trip to the Lighthouse, you have this weekend (on Pantheon) and next weekend to make it happen. Good luck Guardians!

FROM BLIZZARD

Check out the most recent patch notes from Blizzard right HERE.

The Summer Games have ended, and Competitive Season 1 has come to its grand conclusion. If you haven't logged into Overwatch in the last week, your Competitive awards should be waiting. While the patch notes above aren't anything new, we did learn a lot about changes coming with Competitive Season 2, as well as adjustments to some heroes. Here's the video with that information.

Definitely worth watching if you haven't already.

This week also saw the newest character story, focusing on our favorite salt making sentry, Bastion. If you missed the video, check out "The Last Bastion" below. (A very powerful video using no speech at all)

At Gamescom, Overwatch announced a new map coming to us very soon. During the video we see a fallen hero, still donning his armor. Immediately the Overwatch fan base started asking questions. Blizzard didn't wait long to respond when they revealed that Balderich von Alder's armor would be a skin for Reinhardt. Check it out!!

While the map and new skin are only available in the current PTR, that didn't stop fans from finding yet another new skin for Reinhardt! The second skin appears to be a variation of the Balderich skin as if it were left weathered. Check out the Greifhardt skin below.

Sadly only the two new Reinhardt skins have been discussed, but we did get to see the entire new map, Eichenwalde. We'll keep our fingers crossed for even more new skins with the next big patch sometime in September.

LUX EVENTS and bounties

CURRENT BOUNTY: None (New bounties will be announced the week before Rise of Iron)

CURRENT EVENT:

CHALLENGE OF THE IRON LORDS

A rather simple, yet lengthy event designed by HawkZoned. As of today the first of the three stages is nearly done. By next weekend we will have our winner. Expect an announcement after the STARDUST REPORT and a special highlight with the teams involved.

This is the final event before Rise of Iron. If you haven any event suggestions, we would love to hear them. Start a conversation in the Main Chat and bounce ideas around! Send any suggestions/ideas to WLinden for a formal review!

OVERWATCH MINI-EVENT: Tumbleweed!

"I want a ridiculous Overwatch event" - Unnamed LUX Member

Ask and you shall receive. This event is pretty simple and a lot of crazy fun. While the modifiers aren't over the top, the effort needed to win is insane. Watch who your team is hitting, and roll into action to claim the elimination point.

Maps: Hanamura & Volskaya Industries Modifiers: Health 100% // Healing 25% // Ability Cooldown 200% // Respawn 25%

Optional Modifiers: You may opt for one of these two bonus modifiers before each match - ONE person may use Dead Eye whenever it is ready while everyone else is restricted to just flashbangs and rolls.... OR everyone must hold their Dead Eye ult and may only use it during the final 2-minutes of each capture point

BOUNTY HUNTER - aCHIEVED

Over the last 6 weeks you all have battled for the weekly points we've offered towards our clan BOUNTY HUNTER title. You guys ate up the challenges, and have responded with such praise and joy from these weekly challenges that we plan to keep them around! Between now and Rise of Iron, we will be designing a handful of new challenges to place before you... and after Rise of Iron releases and we learn what goodies it hides, we'll add some of the new content to our bounties too!

We can discuss that more at a later date.

You guys are here for one thing and one thing only. Let's get to it!

Congratulations to our very first BOUNTY HUNTER: Killer_of_EpicZ

With 6 bounties posted, Killer was involved in every one of them, gathering a very impressive 81 points. Having put his eye on the prize, Killer destroyed the competition this time around and truly earned his new title. Keep your guns close Killer, there are definitely some power players coming for your title. Annihi18tion, Gooch212 and Cenotaph_Inferno are hot on your heels!

GEAR OF THE WEEK

You guys have kept Chex busy the last two weeks in chat. While a book has a limit to the information it can share at once, our FORGEMASTER continues to provide knowledge for your pew pew thirsty minds.

Imago Loop "....once-mighty wings, now dewy and fragile and new, as again the silken threads encased its..."

"The Imago Loop is a pretty decent handcannon when it comes to the legendary options; In the same archetype as Eyasluna and Finnala's Peril. The base stats are nothing special but not too bad either. If you want a good handcannon this is one of the better options. It drops from the Echo Chamber and Undying Mind strikes, the latter being this weeks Nightfall.

First I'm going to go over what to look for, then I'll go into the pros of using it in PvP and PvE.

Recommended Perks:

Column 1 – SureShot IS/TrueSight IS

Column 2 – Rangefinder, Outlaw, Hot Swap, and Underdog

Column 3 – Rifled Barrel, Smallbore, Reinforced Barrel, Hammer Forged

Column 4 – Hidden Hand/Icarus, Luck in the Chamber, Third Eye, Reactive Reload, Life Support, Grenadier, Army of One

A combination of any of these perks could prove to be a very powerful gun."

PvP:

  • Quick time to kill (1 crit 2 body shots)

  • This archetype is in a very good place right now and are good weapons to use

  • Perks can really make this weapon shine or can make it not good

PvE:

  • Higher magazine size can be nice for damage

  • Hand cannons in general aren't very good in PvE and fall short compared to scouts and pulses

Overall Imago Loop is pretty good; it isn't the best but I think it's worth grinding a bit for it and hope for a good roll. That's all for this week from your Forgemaster. ~Chex
