Stardust Report: July 29th, 2016

WELCOME BACK!

Lord Saladin has left The Tower and made many of us very happy with new weapons and armor. We completed our first LUX Bounty and introduced the new Bounty Hunter program for our members looking to become more legendary.

It's a light Report this time, but this week we lay out the details for our first Activity Check, we announce the details for our next clan event: PRISON DUTY, and we're naming our next Guardians of the Month! Let's get right to it!

NEW TO THE COMMUNITY OR BAND?

Make sure your name on BAND is your PSN (not a variation of it). Another acceptable display name is your PSN followed by your first name in brackets.
Make sure you have an avatar; It’s so much easier to figure out and associate who is talking.
We have a few simple rules to help keep our clan awesome…
1. Be respectful, to your clanmates and admins. Harassment, arguing, or general misconduct are the fastest ways to be removed from the clan.
Reports of RAGE QUITTING will receive one warning.A second offense will result in removal from the clan. (Rage quitting is defined as rudely exiting a game; whether that is PvP, or PvE related. We're all adults here, act like it if something is going wrong)
2. Be helpful. No one likes a lifeless group or a lack of a team for challenges. Hop in a new fire team every now and help out.
3. Have fun and be mature. Joking around is ok, but let’s keep it relatively clean and appropriate. You’ll be warned once if you cross a line. Don’t be that guy to get booted for breaking a rule. No one likes that guy.

LUX IMPORTANT INFO

- ACTIVITY CHECK INFO: Starting Tuesday August 2nd, all LUX member will have one week to mark respond to our first bi-monthly clan check. On Tuesday August 9th, all members who have failed to respond to the check will be removed from all chatrooms and placed in a PENDING REMOVAL chatroom. Members in the removal list will have 14-days to respond. Failure to respond will result in loss of the LUX clan tag and removal from our Band chat.

We do not wish to see anyone removed from the group, but this activity check as well as all future checks serves as a way to make sure we keep our group active and involved. Anyone removed is welcome to rejoin at any time.

- Our current LUX BOUNTY is the "Beware The Night" challenge, focused on the weekly Nightfall. As of this update, 4 of the 5 possible points have been claimed for now. Remember, you must post a screenshot of your completion time in the comments of the Bounty post on Band. Top 5 times will earn points toward their Bounty Hunter status.

- As we near the launch of Rise of Iron, we're hoping to see more of you helping each other to complete tasks toward your Moments of Triumph, or working toward exotic weapons you need. If you need to schedule an event for a specific time/day and would like to have the event posted for our community to respond to, send your request info to WLinden and we'll discuss the details.

This week Bungie broke things while trying to fix things and explained how they fixed it. Along with the regular Challenge of Elder scores and Movies of the Week, there wasn't really anything new to note.

The next big info drop we can hope for may come from PAX. Keep an eye on the Destiny app for new info.

This week we learned of some small adjustments coming in a patch very soon. The linked notes are for PC Only at the moment, but should be coming to consoles soon enough.

Adjustments made include a 20% RoF increase and ammo increase for Ana.

McCree will also see one minor and two major adjustments including a 10 meter increase to damage fall off, a Fan the Hammer RoF increase by 15% and a Flashbang cooldown reduction from .50 seconds to .35 seconds.

Also noted is the extra .50 seconds added to health recovery for any hero affected by Ana's Sleep ability.

LUX EVENTS and bounties

CURRENT BOUNTY: Beware The Night

To complete this bounty you must SOLO the Weekly Nightfall and post a screenshot in the comments of the weekly post with a picture of your completion time. You can capture the time directly from in-game or using DestinyTracker.com and screenshot from your mobile device. As times are sent in, the top 5 times can change and you may be bumped out of earning the bounty. To reclaim it, you must complete the Nightfall again with a faster time.

We've seen a handful of times, and a handful of re-runs from previous leaders. Right now the top and bottom times are 40 minutes apart. Plenty of chances to earn some points.

UPCOMING BOUNTY: No bounty this week as we watch the new Lux Event.

NEW EVENTS ANNOUNCED!!

UPCOMING EVENT:

Prison Duty (Challenge of the Elders event)

The full details for this event were presented a bit later than intended, and the event sign-up is now posted. For that, we apologize for the delay. This event will focus on two challenges: How many points you can earn in the Prison of Elders arena over a full week, and which team of 3 can earn the highest total for a single run through. Of course this will all be completed using the Challenge of Elders sigil.

Plan now, because the CoE competition in our ranks can become intense!

OVERWATCH MINI-EVENT: Peek-A-Boom!!

What do you get when you combine snipers, and grenades? One hell of a mess! The full details for this event will be posted Monday afternoon, but for now we want to get the info out there. As with all Overwatch events, the ideal setup is 4v4 so everyone is in the same chat creating panic and chaos.

Modifiers will be announced Monday, but we'll leave you with the characters being used this time.

GEAR OF THE WEEK

The Iron Banner has fallen dark and the foyer closed off until Lord Saladin returns. With that, the mighty Nirwen's Mercy is gone. This week, our Forgemaster looks at the uniquely designed No Backup Plans!

No Ammo? No Problem.

This week for the engram review… more exotic purple gauntlets! It’s about time we show some love to the titan class and talk about the No Backup Plans. These exotic gauntlets are very unique but are very subclass specific at least when it comes to the exotic perk.

Force Multiplier: Shotgun kills trigger Force Barrier and Force Barrier’s duration is increased.

Pretty simple, just know that your melee ability must be charged for this exotic perk to work.

PvP:

Force barrier on a shotgun kill allows for you to rack up kills while shielded, because who doesn’t want an overshield while warrioring?!
Reroll with glass needles to get the stats and perks you want for your loadout in regards to weapon reload and Int, Disc, and Str.
Can help you stay alive to protect that killstreak or allow you to be an armored glowing killing machine.

PvE:

I would imagine these would be more useful in a strike against low level mob enemies, get a kill with shotgun, get shield, kill all the aliens.
Force Barrier can help save your life to go rez a downed ally in a strike or normal mode raid.
Probably not the best option for PvE, but not a bad one either

Another well rounded and multi-functional exotic armor piece. No Backup Plans should be something to have in your inventory whether you are looking to try a fun new loadout or cause some damage while glowing purple like a true badass. These gauntlets can be earned anywhere RNG exotics drop and Xur sells them occasionally as well. I recommend giving them a try, so go and Chex them out!
