Stardust Report: July 22nd, 2016

WELCOME BACK!

The Iron Banner has been lit again, and we're halfway through another fun filled Iron Banner run. Hopefully you have all been getting some decent drops for rewards. We're back here again to celebrate you guys, and to update you on a few new tools/features we've started to roll out. Have you claimed your LUX BOUNTY yet?

NEW TO THE COMMUNITY OR BAND?

Make sure your name on BAND is your PSN (not a variation of it). Another acceptable display name is your PSN followed by your first name in brackets.
Make sure you have an avatar; It’s so much easier to figure out and associate who is talking.
We have a few simple rules to help keep our clan awesome…
1. Be respectful, to your clanmates and admins. Harassment, arguing, or general misconduct are the fastest ways to be removed from the clan.
Reports of RAGE QUITTING will receive one warning.A second offense will result in removal from the clan. (Rage quitting is defined as rudely exiting a game; whether that is PvP, or PvE related. We're all adults here, act like it if something is going wrong)
2. Be helpful. No one likes a lifeless group or a lack of a team for challenges. Hop in a new fire team every now and help out.
3. Have fun and be mature. Joking around is ok, but let’s keep it relatively clean and appropriate. You’ll be warned once if you cross a line. Don’t be that guy to get booted for breaking a rule. No one likes that guy.

LUX IMPORTANT INFO

- As a reminder, we will be back to open recruitment status AFTER Iron Banner concludes. If you've been bumping the recruitment post this week, thank you for your help!

- August will see our first ACTIVITY CHECK. Please make a note to check back on Band sometime during the first week of August and to respond to the check!

- This week we launched our first LUX BOUNTY. There will be more to come, and we'll need your help to come up with some interesting bounties. If you have an idea for an attainable bounty, please send an email to LuxViatores@outlook.com with the details of the bounty.

This week we received our first real look at the new and altered Cosmodrome we've all come to know. Mounds of snows, SIVA infesting all variety of life and machine, a new chariot for us to ride into battle... there was a decent amount of new info for this teaser look into the new Rise of Iron expansion.

UPDATE FOR PRE-ORDERS: If you pre-order Destiny: Rise of Iron, you will now receive the exclusive Iron Gjallarhorn and Iron Gjallarwing Sparrow.

Haven't seen the official announcement? We'll just set this here for you...

That's right folks, the previously denied to exist Gjallarwing Sparrow is a real thing, and it is pretty cool looking. Just like the Gjallarhorn, you can get the standard gold and white version from within the game, but these sweet looking black and silver versions will only go to the pre-ordered versions of the game.

Also added and confirmed this week was the announcement of PlayStation exclusive content. First announced was a PvP multiplayer map, an exclusive questline and reward, and teased with this ship you see in the picture provided. If the PS Exclusive flyers stick to the trend, this ship is the reward for completing the PvP Questline.

During the stream we were also shown (perhaps unintentionally) the new max light level... or maybe just a step along our climb to higher light. Either way 355 Light gives us 20 Light levels to climb with the new Rise of Iron expansion. Keep in mind that each significant expansion/update since TTK has given us a good bump in Light. From Year 1 max to TTK max we went from 300 to 320. The April Update moved us from 320 to 335. Keep that in mind before we start ranting about not enough Light.

We'll have a chance to learn more about Rise of Iron at Gamescom later in August. For now, let's keep our focus on getting our LUX members up to 335 Light, and prepared for the new content.

CURRENT BOUNTY: The Iron Lords Are Watching

We decided to make our first LUX BOUNTY a fun one, and with Iron Banner active, what better arena than the Crucible to fight for our first weekly accolade. As of this update we have ALL TEN bounties claimed! You'll see their names posted on our new BOUNTY HUNTER page on the website soon.

Congrats to Killer_of_epicZ, Potatoizawesome1, CrImSoN_gHoSt_01, Annihi18tion, cheekytom, Electrik-Shadow, Giggywhale5, EDMxSwitch, ChexicanTaco98, and MrYourBoss for being the first to claim our new bounty! You will also see your points reflected on the website as well.

UPCOMING BOUNTY: Beware The Night (Will replace "The Iron Lords Are Watching" at the weekly reset)

As if this one needed any further details... but just to make sure we're clear we'll explain it quickly.

To complete this bounty you must SOLO the Weekly Nightfall and post a screenshot in the comments of the weekly post with a picture of your completion time. You can capture the time directly from in-game or using DestinyTracker.com and screenshot from your mobile device. As times are sent in, the top 5 times can change and you may be bumped out of earning the bounty. To reclaim it, you must complete the Nightfall again with a faster time.

Your name will still be posted on our site for completing the bounty, but you will not receive any points towards your BOUNTY HUNTER status. BOUNTY HUNTER will be a monthly title awarded to the 3 Guardians in LUX who claim the most points from our new bounties. Points will be explained when the page goes live.

NEW EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT

UPCOMING EVENT:

Prison Duty (Challenge of the Elders event)

The full details for this event will be presented later this week when the event sign-up is posted. This event will focus on two challenges: How many points you can earn in the Prison of Elders arena over a full week, and which team of 3 can earn the highest total for a single run through. Of course this will all be completed using the Challenge of Elders sigil. Plan now, because the CoE competition in our ranks can become intense!

GEAR OF THE WEEK

Have you noticed the trend this week? You can hear it in the crowds. It's here... and folks want it again. This week our Forgemaster takes a little break while our Founder looks at the infamous Nirwen's Mercy

A pulse rifle that demands respect, Nirwen's Mercy was once one of the most sought after guns in PvP. While the gun itself sits in the top 5 pulse rifles for PvE content, the Mercy has fallen from the apex from where it started. Still a very formidable weapon in the right hands with the right perks, it should not be taken lightly in PvP.

PvP:

Performance relies heavily on perk rolls. Paired with stability boosters such as Counterbalance or Perfect Balance, this gun can become a laser.
Along with a stability booster, Third Eye and Rangefinder can take this gun to a whole new level.
Avoid perk rolls that include Secret Round and/or Skip Rounds

PvE:

Easily one of the most stable pulse rifles you can use in PvE regardless of perks.
Due to being a low RoF pulse, the Mercy hits harder than the stats show, making quick work of most large enemies.

Nirwen's Mercy was once a beast, but has since been tamed. Though it isn't a top pick in every loadout anymore it can still get the job done. The vendor roll for this Iron Banner is definitely not the best, but will help you take care of business in PvE content with ease.
