WELCOME BACK!
Holy Pokemon... we've been caught in the epidemic known as Pokemon GO, we've maxed out our member seats, and we've tested out a new mini-event. We're rolling strong and having some serious fun this week! There's a ton of info in this report, and a bunch of highlights to share! Let's not delay anymore... here's this week's Stardust Report with 100% more Saladin.
NEW TO THE COMMUNITY OR BAND?
Make sure your name on BAND is your PSN (not a variation of it). Another acceptable display name is your PSN followed by your first name in brackets.
Make sure you have an avatar; It’s so much easier to figure out and associate who is talking.
We have a few simple rules to help keep our clan awesome…
1. Be respectful, to your clanmates and admins. Harassment, arguing, or general misconduct are the fastest ways to be removed from the clan.
Reports of RAGE QUITTING will receive one warning.A second offense will result in removal from the clan. (Rage quitting is defined as rudely exiting a game; whether that is PvP, or PvE related. We're all adults here, act like it if something is going wrong)
2. Be helpful. No one likes a lifeless group or a lack of a team for challenges. Hop in a new fire team every now and help out.
3. Have fun and be mature. Joking around is ok, but let’s keep it relatively clean and appropriate. You’ll be warned once if you cross a line. Don’t be that guy to get booted for breaking a rule. No one likes that guy.
LUX IMPORTANT INFO
- WE DID IT GUYS!! WE REACHED 200 MEMEBERS!! If this is your first Stardust Report, we hope you enjoy it and hope to see your contribute to it soon!
- With LUX2 full, and our main hub full... we've decided to open one more group. We want to thank all of you for making this group so much fun and for living the values of Lux Viatores. Before we open LUX3, we are going to take a small break to let Iron Banner pass by, and to review our current member list. With the August Activity Check coming up, we're going to clear our the few members who have remained inactive since joining to make room for new members as Rise of Iron approaches.
- Our Pokemon GO chat has exploded this week! If you're playing the game and not in that chat, you're missing out. Lots of new information being shared and tips from all over the net.
- This week we introduced the Overwatch test event: Merciful Knights... and have had a very fun and successful time with the settings. While we only have about 30 members currently playing Overwatch, we're still going to create steady flow of mini-events that can be played anytime during the week. More info to come with the next mini-event.
FROM BUNGIE
This week Bungie made a few exciting announcements about upcoming reveals and informed us that Iron Banner will be returning this Tuesday and this go-round we're playing CONTROL. Lord Saladin is bringing the goods with him this time, as we see the return of the merciless Nirwen's Mercy pulse rifle, and the underrated Weyloran's March sniper rifle.
Along with new weapons for some of you, Lord Saladin is bringing back the Iron Companion gauntlets and boots, as well as the PlayStation exclusive Iron Camelot gauntlets. Who can reach Rank 5 first in our ranks? Everyone who sends in a screenshot when they've reached Rank 5 will be listed here next week.
We're also bringing back the #SelfieWithSaladin highlights. Snag a unique, fun, or casual picture with Saladin and your fireteam or solo. Send them to WLinden via PSN message and we'll post them all!! We'll also upload them to @LuxViatores on Twitter and share them with Bungie!
Also announced this week is the first in-game reveal of some Rise of Iron content. This coming Wednesday on Bungie's Twitch channel, at 10am PST, we will get our first look at the all new Cosmodrome and maybe even a few hints toward what the SIVA infused Fallen Devils are planning.

NEW HERO ANNOUNCED: Rejoice, my brothers!! Rejoice!! Officially announced on Wednesday was our first new hero joining the roster. Start planning your team builds; Ana is on her way.
The most recent PTR (Patch Test Region) has a lot of new changes coming to consoles very soon. For now, this info and these changes are still in testing modes only. Due to the VERY LONG list of tweaks and changes coming, we're going to ask you to simply review the notes linked above. Healers have a lot of changes coming, as well as a few changes to big names like D.va and McCree.
LUX EVENTS
CURRENT EVENT: MERCIFUL KNIGHTS - An Overwatch mini event
This week we started testing out the new mini-events for Overwatch using the very cool custom games settings. We're happy to report that the first event has been a big success, and has been a ton of fun to participate in! For those that missed the info, here's the settings. (You can also find the settings listed in the comments of the event listing on Band)
Team Setup: 4v4 - Teams must start each match with 2 Mercy and 2 Reinhardt. (Can also be done as 2v2 or 3v3 as long as teams are even. Map & Mode: Lijang Tower, Nepal, and Ilios - Quick Play rules (CONTROL / Best of 3) Modifiers: Health increased 150%, Ultimate charge rate increased to 200%, respawn timer reduced to 25%, ability cooldown reduced to 50%
Scoring: No longer being used during this test run.
Match Guidelines: Every time you're eliminated you MUST change characters. If you die as Mercy, you respawn as Reinhardt and vice-versa. If you are in the spawn when the match ends you do not need to swap characters on the next match.
Prepare for laughter, screams, more laughter, more screams, and a whole lot of fun with this set up. You'd be surprised how crazy this can get.
NEW EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT NEXT WEEK!
SUBGROUPS IN LUX
After we made our formal announcement regarding subgroups in our community, the question has come up multiple times from members as well as the groups themselves... "How do we put our name out there for the rest of LUX to see?"
This week while we're battling through the ranks for Iron Banner, WLinden will be working on a new page for our website to host each subgroup's info and focus. Keep an eye on our main Band page for the announcement to submit your info. Subgroup captains, please have your roster list ready to go.
GEAR OF THE WEEK
Holster your six-shooters folks, this week our Forgemaster is drilling into the morrow of the hunters. Grab your favorite cloak and collect your frequent flyer miles with the mighty BONES OF EAO.
“Defy Extinction"
The Bones of EAO are an exotic leg armor for hunters. They add another jump which can be useful in both PvE and PvP. The exotic perk adds another jump to double jump, so you can have four jumps if paired with triple jump or two better control jumps.
These boots can increase your mobility quite a bit and with glass needles you can re-roll them until you get perks that work best with your build.
PvP:
Increased mobility; if paired with better control you will move very quickly
Increased mobility can help evade/escape during engagements
PvE:
Very useful in the King's Fall raid for jumping puzzles and running the relic
Extra mobility
Bones of Eao are a pretty versatile exotic which have a use in both PvP and PvE. I like to run double better control jumps as you move very quickly across maps and can be aggressive with your playstyle. Overall they are a good exotic and worth trying out.
